Collected souvenirs of shells etc. Over the hill where Turkish trenches
were. Had glorious view of position up
to Anafarta, all of which might have been ours if our things weren’t
muddled. The crest in front of us shows
a good view of the Narrows and the Australians were actually met but were not
reinforced. Trenches tomorrow. If only the Turks knew how many men we had
left!
